MathsIsMaths — a math practice app for school students

Effective date: [insert date you publish this] · Operated by Garima Singh, trading as MathsIsMaths ("we", "us", "our")

Draft notice This document was drafted based on the app's actual technical data practices as a starting point for your Play Store listing. It is not legal advice. Given that MathsIsMaths is used by school students — including children — please have it reviewed by a lawyer familiar with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) before publishing, particularly regarding parental consent requirements for users under 18.

This Privacy Policy explains what information MathsIsMaths ("the App") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. This policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider (Supabase) and are never stored by us in plain text.

Profile information

During signup, we collect your full name, class/grade, city, state, and PIN code, and optionally your phone number.

Usage and test data

As you use the App, we collect information about the practice sessions and timed tests you take — including the subject and chapters selected, questions attempted, answers given, scores, and time taken. This is used to run the test/practice features themselves and to show you your own results and history.

Purchase / entitlement status

We keep a record of whether your account has premium access, so the App can unlock the correct content. Payments for premium access are (or will be) processed through Google Play's billing system — we do not collect or store your payment card details ourselves.

Information we do not collect

We do not access your device's precise location, contacts, camera, or microphone. We do not currently use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your personal information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

3. Children's Data & Parental Consent

MathsIsMaths is designed for school students, which means many users of the App are children under the age of 18. If you are under 18, you should only use this App with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for reviewing this Privacy Policy on your behalf.

Parents or guardians who wish to review, correct, or request deletion of a child's information may contact us at mathsismaths9@gmail.com.

4. How We Store and Protect Your Information

Your data is stored using Supabase, our backend hosting provider, which acts as our data processor. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), and access to your data is restricted using database-level access controls (row-level security) so that, in general, only you can read your own account data.
